A video capture of a device's screen, similar to the static "screenshot". Sometimes referred to as a "video screen capture" or "screen recording".

A screencast is a video recording of the information displayed on a device's screen, often for the purposes of demonstrating or sharing features to others. This is analogous to the term , which refers to capturing a single, static image of the screen's output at a given moment in time.

Screencats may sometimes also be referred to as "video screen captures" or "screen recordings".
