With a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nottingham University, I spent 18 years as a professional software developer, starting in the early '90s.

I ran my own company providing computer support for homes and small businesses in the North-East of England for 14 years. I'd occasionally end up writing code to help customers, but mostly it was basic support - a lot less demanding that full-time software development!

I now live with long-covid and do hobbyist development when my head lets me.
