Paus Gregorius I

Paus Gregorius I; s. 540 – 12 Mac 604) yang juga diberi gelaran Santo Gregorius yang Agung (Bahasa Inggeris: Saint Gregory the Great)[1] merupakan ketua Gereja Katolik Rom 3 September 590 hingga 12 Mac 604 TM. Beliau dikenali kerana peranannya memimpin suatu misi menyebarkan ajaran Kristian dalam kalangan masyarakat Inggeris-Saxon di England yang pada ketika itu berkepercayaan pagan (Misi Gregorius, Gregorian Mission).[2] Beliau turut dikenali atas penulisan beliau yang lebih berpengaruh daripada karya paus-paus sebelumnya.[3]
