In one of my Gmail accounts, in the Labels tab of the settings, show in IMAP checkboxes are displayed (at right) beside show/hide option for every system label. However, my other Gmail account does not display the 'show in IMAP' checkboxes. Can't figure out why (?) everything I check seems the same except that.

I think you have to enable Imap in settings.
