I study crop genetics. One-third of my job is in agricultural fields, one-third is in wet-lab, and the last 1/2 is done analyzing data using R, SAS, or other software such as Windows QTL Cartographer (I know that 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/2 != 1 whole but that's how it feels sometimes). I am trying to do all of my analysis in R since it is free, accessible to everyone, and such a powerful tool for analyzing data for different purposes.
