How do you code ordinal independent variables in a logistic regression on SPSS?

Question

I have a dependent binary variable and several independent ordinal variables. Do I transform these variables into dummy variables or just leave them as is? Also, would I treat these ordinal variables the same way if I my dependent variable is also ordinal? Thanks!
