I started Japanese in an academy in 2020 and went off in 2022; I do not recommend language schools outside of japan. They are just money-takers. Now in May of 2022, I put effort into consuming native content and mine words in Anki I started with the two tango deck, n5 and n4, currently sentence mining for vocab and some grammar. My grammar guides were the whole 初級 series of みんなの日本語 which gave me a great base to consume more actively Japanese content recommended if you like the textbook structure
