私は来年国へ家族に会いに帰ります。

Why there's a 家族に会い, why not 家族と会い?

In English, "meet" happens to be a transitive verb which doesn't take a preposition, but you can see a similar distinction when you compare "to talk **to** my family" (家族**に**話す) and "to talk **with** my family" (家族**と**話す). People don't usually say "to talk with a newborn". – naruto Aug 03 '22 at 23:43
