A modpack for minecraft that includes "science-y" mods such as atomic science and more explosives. It is found on the technic launcher.

Voltz is a modpack for minecraft found on the technic launcher. It has many similar features to the main technic modpack tekkit, for example new ores underground and machines. However, in voltz the machines come from a different mod. In tekkit they are from IndustrialCraft, whereas in voltz they are from various other mods. Voltz also uses a pack of ten mods called universal electricity for its electrical elements. The mod GalacticCraft, which allows players to travel to space and other planets, is also included. The main purpose of voltz is for PvP games. The modpack adds explosives and missiles, and special blast resistant blocks for buildings (such as concrete), the idea being to kill your opponents and emerge victorious in a nuclear war. Many new ores are found underground, including sulfur, uranium and osmium. A major part of voltz is working with atomic science. The refinement of uranium ore is necessary for the major part of atomic science, and mirrors real life processes; the player must make the gas uranium hexafluoride and then refine it into uranium metal. The mod goes even as far as to include the two real life isotopes of uranium: uranium-235 and uranium-238. With incredible detail, the mod even makes U-235 harder to obtain than U-238 - just like in real life. The player must use the right isotope for the right purpose. Realistically structured nuclear reactors can be built. These are much more intricate than in tekkit, with control rods and fuel rods, as well as turbines that need to be built and placed correctly to produce power. Atomic science links with the new explosives such as antimatter and red matter explosives. To make these, another part of atomic science is used: the particle accelerator. Although square (because, of course, it is minecraft), the accelerator is used to make antimatter and also red matter. The pure red matter in the game is called strange matter, but the explosives and missiles are called red matter. The modpack features a huge variety of explosives and missiles, ranging from the devastatingly powerful antimatter and red matter explosives to simple condensed explosives and breaching charges. Voltz is a fantastic opportunity to fight a nuclear war against your friends, but also offers a huge selection of things to do in single player for the aspiring nuclear physicist.
