A 2000 re-release of a 1984 Macintosh game; a third person puzzle-solving action/psychological horror developed by Rogue Entertainment and published by EA. You play Alice in a spin-off continuation from Lewis Carroll's classic book series, Alice in Wonderland as an older and more jaded version of Alice. Alice is suffering from the psychological trauma of Survivor's Guilt after her family are killed in a mysterious blaze which also destroyed their home.
Alice's grasp on reality begins to dwindle and she is eventually committed to an asylum, where she receives treatment for insanity and catatonia. The game is set inside Alice's head, a macabre and twisted version of the Wonderland she knew as a young girl, come under the dominion of the Queen of Hearts.
When it was released, the game was well received and especially praised for sophisticated graphics which were beyond many games of the same era. The sound track was also highly praised, and was written, composed, and performed by Chris Vrenna, guitarist Mark Blasquez, and singer Jessicka. It made a lot of interesting use of toy instruments and creates a chilling atmosphere.
